Will I have to take ecoGlaze off to open my windows?
No. ecoGlaze does not alter the operation of your windows or doors.
I'm a renter? Can I take it with me?
Yes - technically you could. However, ecoGlaze is made to measure and so is cut to fit the exact dimensions of your existing windows. This means that, unless you are moving to a property with exactly the same types and sizes of windows, your ecoGlaze solution will not fit! (We will be happy to supply you with ecoGlaze at your new home!).
I have problems with heat in summer. Will ecoGlaze help with that?
ecoGlaze will help with reducing the transfer of heat whether it is from the inside of the house or the outside of the house. However, if there is direct summer sun striking the glass then external shading is the appropriate solution (double glazing solutions are not the appropriate treatment). This will reduce the incidence of direct solar radiation into your home. If, however, there is no direct sunlight striking your windows, then ecoGlaze can be very effective in making sure that the summer's heat stays outside.
Will ecoGlaze eliminate street noise?
Neither egoGlaze nor any other form of secondary or double glazing will eliminate street noise from your home. ecoGlaze is primarily a thermal product however it will reduce the incidence of noise coming through the glazing.
Any noise abatement should be undertaken in a holistic manner and would usually include thorough draught proofing as well as treatments to the walls, floors and ceilings. Often in apartments the glazing is the major source of noise infiltration and therefore ecoGlaze would provide significant acoustic benefit.
How much will it cost?
A reasonable indication is between $250 and $350 per square metre, depending upon the type and sizes of your windows, and your location. Call the lovely people at ecoMaster - they will be delighted to help you!
